Vietnam Kitesurfing Tours

June 2009 - Vietnam's First Kite Camp!

Kite tours have been suspended for this season - We've decided after 5 great years of tours to take a year off to kite harder ourselves, and to look for great new spots around Vietnam to include in future tours. We'll be back next year!  In the meantime, for information and help on arranging a fantastic kitesurfing holiday in Vietnam, please visit Vietnam Kitesurfing Holidays.

Some great and exciting news for all of you!

Vietnam Kitesurfing Tours is about to build the first Kite Camp in Vietnam. We started our tour business 2 years ago and have had a lot of fun and a lot of happy guests. Everyone loved the site where we conduct our tour from and asked us all many times ,” Why haven’t you guys built some sort of Camp or Accommodation here , this is a kitesurfers Paradise!?”

We told them this was our future plan - and now it’s finally going to happen!

We have Leased 6000 sqm of beachfront land to put you right on the launch spot. Plenty of room. Large restaurant , that will offer foreign cuisine and also a large selection of local Vietnamese food. TV and chill out area, pool table, massage, male and female showers and toilet. Kite storage shed, air compressor, beach boys to help you out. Accommodation will be in private large army-style tents, a comfortable queen size bed or 2 single beds depending on what the guests desire. We want our guests to be able to live for under $20 US a day, (food and accommodation) if they want to. We have beautiful waves here too, so when there is no wind on the very rare occasions you can go surfing, or stand up paddle, snorkelling is also available. We will only operate from mid October till April as it is the best time to be there. The camp is under contruction and will be open early 2010.

The place is a bit out of the way 20km south of Phan Rang but we will give you many options according to your budget. Its 120 km from Mui Ne. You can fly to Nha Trang and take a taxi from the airport wich is one hour. We look forward to making the Camp a super cool place to come and stay and kite at.

Weatherwise the wind has been amazing, every tour we have done is when there is no wind in Mui Ne, I mean NO wind and we convince people that we know a spot that blows 20 to 30 knots just about everyday of the season!!!!. We had only 5 days of no wind over a 4 month period this year, and on those days there was surf. Left and right reef breaks. This place geographically is built to blow, and has some huge swell. This is why we are building our camp there.

We will be adding pics and more info over the next few months about the Camp. If you are interested in coming to stay in the next season 09 / 10 feel free to make contact and we can let you know all the details. We plan to be open early in 2010.

Have fun everyone & happy kiting, from the crew at Vietnam Kitesurfing Tours.
