Vietnam's First & Only Kitesurf Camp

JANUARY 2009 UPDATE: The opening of the camp has been postponed indefinitely due to an upcoming government project. We're working on it and we hope to resolve the problems and proceed with the camp eventually. The Spot
Two huge reefs, offering a vast expanse of butter-flat water for perfecting your freestyle tricks, or learning to go upwind - perfect for all levels of kiters. On the edge of the reefs there are left and right-breaking waves, often huge, rarely small, always there. If you like riding in waves on directional or twintip, this spot offers you the best kitesurfing Vietnam has to offer, loads of variety. We can also organise group downwinders from the spot. 

Tired of trying to get through the Mui Ne shorebreak? Forget it! Our spot has a wide launching area on the edge of the flat water where, no matter what the conditions, you can always launch and land in super-flat water - and with a compressor to pump up, and beach boys to launch and land your kite.

The Camp
Accommodation is in large personal tents, either with a queen-sized bed or two singles, comfortable beds, loads of headroom, plenty of space, with proper floors and rechargeable lights. We have male and female hot showers and toilet blocks close to the tents.

The on-site restaurant provides a good variety of tasty meals and snacks throughout the day and evening. The bar/chill-out area has ice cold beers and more, comfortable seats, wifi internet, and a couple of other computers for internet access if you're not traveling with a laptop. We also have facilities to safely recharge your ipods and laptops.

There is a small shop selling essentials - snacks, sunblock and the like. We also have surfboards, mini mals and standup paddle surfboards for hire, and a few kites and boards if you have problems with your own kit.

The Wind
The wind, the wind...have we got wind for you! Through a combination of thermals, and geographical features creating multiple funneling venturis, this spot is windy almost every day of our season, October through to April. You can expect wind building from 8am, with normal wind speeds peaking around 25 knots or more in the afternoon....EVERY DAY!

We've been running kitesurf tours here through the windy season for the last two years, and virtually every tour had great wind - on many days when there was no wind in Mui Ne.

The Permit
The camp is situated in the middle of a military zone - it's taken us three years of negotiations to get permission to build a camp here. Every kiter needs a permit and has to have passport and visa details registered with the military, BEFORE you go kitesurfing, no exceptions.

The permits are arranged exclusively through us. Anybody turning up at the spot and kiting without permission is likely to be arrested and fined.

The cost of your permit is included in the price of your accommodation, and we'll look after the paperwork for you, just give us your passport and visa details on arrival.
